Both Frankie and Benny's restaurants in Milton Keynes put up for rent as future of chain uncertain

Both Frankie and Benny's restaurants in Milton Keynes have been put up for rent as the chain announces hundreds of restaurants will close nationally.

Owners of the chain, The Restaurant Group, announced on Wednesday that between 100 and 120 Frankie and Benny's restaurants nationally would be closing.

The company did not reveal which sites would be remaining open and which would be closing.

However, MKFM can reveal that both Milton Keynes restaurants - at Xscape and the Kingston Centre - have been put up for rent.

Commercial lettings agent Savills is currently seeking new tenants who may be interested in either site.

A note in the sale advertisement states: "All viewings must be arranged strictly by appointment with the sole agents Savills and under no circumstances should any direct approach be made to any staff members."

They add: "The former trading name and any branded items are not being included with the property which must be completely re-branded before opening."

Savills quote a rent of £145,400 per annum for the Xscape site and £127,500 per annum for the Kingston site.

They add that the Kingston Centre site has 'potential to split' - meaning that two restaurants could open in its place.

It follows a number of announcements of restaurants facing difficulty in Milton Keynes - with Carluccio's recently announcing they will not re-open in Milton Keynes and the future of Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia and Las Iguanas being in doubt.
