Boris Johnson claims the Labour Council is failing and change is needed

The Foreign Secretary made the claim whilst visiting Milton Keynes based business Niftylift.

Johnson says, “It was great to visit a thriving British business, which has transformed from a small manufacturer to a real-life incarnation of Global Britain and is now exporting around the world."

He goes on to talk about the council in MK, "It was a pleasure to support Cllr Geary and the Conservative team in Milton Keynes. During the day I encountered many people who were clear that change is needed locally, the Labour Council is failing. I am confident the Conservative will give MK the ambitious leadership it needs.”

The Foreign Secretary managed to secure a rare opportunity to see MK from the sky as he went up in one of their tallest Cherry Pickers.

Mr Johnson would have seen across the entire city where businesses are setting up and new jobs are being created every day. Last year Milton Keynes overtook Cambridge in the league table of fastest growing city economies in the UK. That trend is set to continue as MK aims to be a smart city capital.

Niftylift is the perfect example of the opportunities in Milton Keynes. Two years ago they completed their new state-of-the-art facility World Headquarters based in Shenley Wood, creating dozens of local jobs and apprenticeships.
