Boots confirms closure of Milton Keynes Brunel Centre store

Boots UK have confirmed to MKFM today that the Brunel Centre store is set to close in April 2022.

The chain currently has 8 Boots stores in Milton Keynes, including Opticians, a Medical Centre and Pharmacies.

A Boots UK spokesperson told MKFM: “At Boots, we aim to serve our patients however and wherever they need us, both in stores and online. We continually review our store and pharmacy network to ensure that we balance our commitment to offer provision where it is most needed with our need to adapt to a changing market environment.

“Following a recent review, we can confirm that our store in Bletchley Brunel Centre will close in April 2022. Our nearby store at Kingston, Milton Keynes will continue to offer pharmacy and retail services to our customers.”

In Brunel Centre news, it was announced yesterday that the Bletchley-based shopping centre had been bought out by MKDP.

Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) has taken a big step forward in the regeneration of Bletchley and Fenny Stratford, adding the Brunel Shopping Centre to its property ownership in Bletchley.

The Brunel Centre is the third asset MKDP has purchased in recent years, previously it acquired the police station and fire station sites adjacent to the Railway Station.

Boots UK has told MKFM that the closure is following a recent review, it has not been suggested that it is linked to the MKDP purchase.
