Architects have been granted planning permission to develop Build to Rent homes in Milton Keynes city centre.
Assael Architecture, an architect company based in London, has had its planning permission approved to convert a multi-story parking lot at Campbell Park View into a mixed-used building.
In January this year, an application was made to Milton Keynes City Council's planning and building department to demolish the existing multi-story car park to develop a build-to-rent residential development. The application proposed that the building would include a leisure space, restaurant/café, public houses, wine bars, or drinking establishments (and with expanded food provision), and a cinema.
Assael intended to make several improvements to the public realm and a variety of additional amenity areas that will enhance the current offers in the region, the ideas will result in the delivery of 285 superior Build to Rent (BtR) homes.
Across two spectacular residential towers of 18 and 25 stories, united by a 16-story building, the renovation, which is destined to become a landmark in the heart of Milton Keynes, will give 136 one-bedroom homes, 136 two-bedroom homes, and 13 three-bedroom houses.
Not only does this creative layout provide excellent rental properties, but it also blends in perfectly with the neighbourhood, offering ground and first-floor recreation areas that are easily accessible. Double-height entrances and thoughtful placement of these areas provide a warm and lively atmosphere for both residents and guests.
Sophie Gunn, Associate Director at Packaged Living said, “We are delighted to have reached this important milestone for an important gateway site in the heart of Milton Keynes. Campbell Park View will bring high-quality placemaking and public realm with 285 new homes and leisure space. This will be our second multi-family BTR scheme in Milton Keynes following the success of The Almere, an award-winning development which was completed in 2022.”
Pete Ladhams, Managing Director at Assael Architecture said, “We are thrilled to receive planning permission for the Campbell Park View development, a project that truly exemplifies our commitment to creating innovative and thriving communities.”
Pete continued, “This approval marks our second successful collaboration with Packaged Living in Milton Keynes, following the exceptional results we’ve seen with The Almere. With Campbell Park View, we are not only delivering 285 high-quality homes but also enhancing the public realm and providing much-needed leisure and amenity spaces that will enrich the lives of both residents and the wider community. This development is a significant step forward in our mission to redefine urban living in Milton Keynes.”
