Anytime Fitness in Milton Keynes has permanently closed

Bailiffs suddenly closed the 24-hour gym in Shenley Church End on Friday (17/1).

Anytime Fitness Milton Keynes announced yesterday (20/1) that it will remain closed.

The announcement follows an eviction by bailiffs in the early hours of Friday morning (17/1).

On Saturday (18/1), Anytime Fitness posted an emotional message on their Facebook page blaming the rise in the cost of operation for the sudden closure.

According to the popular gym, the cost has increased by 12% each year.

A spokesperson from Anytime Fitness said: "Big corporations and major high street retailers are really struggling in the current business climate, and as we are a small businesses we have been affected by the high rent, service charge, business rate and utilities."

Customers took to Anytime Fitness Milton Keynes' Facebook page to show their disappointment. A regular customer said: "I share the frustration, but I am very sympathetic for the staff.

"No one saw this coming and everyone has bills to pay. I have taken the opportunity to train elsewhere using free passes."
