Police helicopter used following a knife attack in Crownhill Milton Keynes

    Two arrested following the attack and reports that a male youth was seen to be carrying a firearm

    Thames Valley Police has arrested two people in connection with an assault on the playing fields of Crownhill, Milton Keynes.

    At around 3.40pm on Monday afternoon an incident took place in the playing fields of Crownhill, Milton Keynes. 

    A 17-year-old boy was assaulted receiving a slash wound to his arm, which required treatment, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. 

    Additionally it was reported that a male youth was seen to be carrying a firearm.

    Concerned residents contacted MKFM due to a large police presence in the Oxley Park, Kingsmead and Tattenhoe Park area early yesterday evening. The Police helicopter was deployed from Oxford to assist with the search for suspects and to record CCTV evidence.

    Thames Valley Police launched an investigation to locate the offenders with officers making enquiries across a number of locations in Milton Keynes. 

    A 16 year-old male and a 19 year-old man have been arrested and remain in police custody. 

    Photos later appeared on social media of police at an address in Tattonhoe Park which was the main area the helicopter had been circling around 5pm.

    Inspector Tim Robinson based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was a concerning incident for the public, however we have made two arrests and believe there is no danger to the wider public. 

    “People may see an increased police presence as we continue to investigate, we would advise anyone with concerns to please speak to one of our officers.

    “If anyone has information in connection with this incident we would ask them to call Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 925 16/7/18.”
