Another day of missed green bin collections across Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Council has announced that even more estates have been impacted by missed green bin collections today (8/9).

Milton Keynes Council is among one of the dozens of local authorities that has seen their refuse collection services impacted by both the "pingdemic" and the shortage of HGV drivers.

This resulted in the Council suspending the collection of food and garden waste collections for a month to allow staff numbers to get back to a manageable level.

Refuse collectors are now in the process of catching up with increased volumes of garden waste and this has caused delays in collections almost on a daily basis.

Milton Keynes Council announced this afternoon that six estates did not have their food and garden waste collected as planned.

The affected estates are as follows:

    - Tattenhoe

    - Shenley Brook End

    - Peartree Bridge

    - Wavendon

    - Wavendon Gate

    - Glebe Farm

A spokesperson for the local authority explained in a tweet: "We're sorry that we've been unable to complete food and garden waste collections in these areas on Wednesday 8 September. We'll be out first thing tomorrow, Thursday 8 September to complete missed collections."
