Luton Community Fire Station have issued a safety message following a road traffic collision on the M1 near Milton Keynes this morning.
Emergency services were called to the M1 Northbound between J10 and J11 at 1am this morning following a collision including 2 cars and 2 lorries.
A spokesperson from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue said that fire control sent 2 pumps from Luton Green Watch, Stopsley and Dunstable to the crash.
Ambulance and police services were also in attendance, triaging patients and controlling traffic by closing the M1.
The fire station has reported that one casualty was successfully extricated by the fire service using cutting equipment, and was taken to hospital with injuries.
Three young children were also removed from the vehicle, fortunately with no injuries.
Luton Community Fire Station issues the following safety message on Facebook: "If you are unfortunate enough to break down in your vehicle, please vacate it and stand well clear, in a position of safety and await recovery (ideally a refuge area)
"Thank you!"
