Police appeal after distraction theft in Milton Keynes car park

    Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a distraction theft in Wolverton, Milton Keynes.

    At approximately 11.30am yesterday (8/11), the victim, a 76-year-old female, was putting shopping into the boot of her vehicle in the car park of the Wolverton Tesco superstore when a man distracted her, saying he was looking for a pharmacy.

    When the victim got into her vehicle, she realised her phone and her purse were missing from her handbag.

    Her cards have subsequently been used fraudulently.

    The offender is described as an Asian man, around 6ft tall and approximately 40-years-old.

    He had short, dark grey hair, a moustache and was wearing a grey jacket or anorak.

    The victim’s vehicle was a dark grey VW Golf. She was not injured in the incident.

    Case investigator Kerrie Burns said: “This incident has occurred in a busy Tesco car park in the late morning.

    “I am appealing to anybody who was in the area at the time and believes that they witnessed this incident to contact Thames Valley Police.

    “I would also urge anybody who was using their car in the car park and who may have dash-cam, to please check this and contact us if it has captured anything that may assist this investigation.
