Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been convicted of firearm offences in Milton Keynes.
Alvin Ferrol, aged 21, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count each of possessing a firearm when prohibited for five years, possession of ammunition when prohibited for five years, possession of a prohibited firearm, affray, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of ammunition with intent to cause fear of violence.
Ferrol pleaded guilty to the offences at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (4/8) and will return to the same court for sentencing on 29 September.
On 4 July, Ferrol was arrested following an incident in Serpentine Court, Bletchley.
Officers were responding to a report that men were running around outside the shops with weapons.
Following a pursuit, Ferrol attempted to flee from Police but was apprehended.
A search of the vehicle led to a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition being found in the rear passenger seat.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Shannon Smith, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “I am pleased with the early guilty pleas from the offender and hope his sentence reflects on the severity of his crimes.
“This particular incident had the potential to have involved serious harm to others but thanks to officers reacting quickly to the initial call, a dangerous offender and weapon have now been removed from our streets.”
