Carly and her partner Carl were invited along to The Three Trees in Bletchley to preview their Valentines Day Menu. Here is their review...
The experience
Carl and I had a lovely evening at The Three Trees last night. We were invited along for a sample of their Valentines Day Menu ahead of them delivering it to the public at the end of this week, 13th - 15th February. Roman and Louise welcomed us into the restaurant which as ever is the most welcoming space. I'm a sucker for a trinket and a cute sign and this place is jam packed with them. I must also mention Louise's warm and friendly nature she really is an asset to this restaurant and I loved watching her greet her regulars knowing their drinks order and showing them to their favourite seats.
We began with bread and olives which was paired perfectly for Valentines with a glass of bubbly. Balsamic dipping oil, sundried tomatoes, olives, mushrooms accompanied with a mountain of fresh bread.
Next we had our starters, Chicken Liver Parfait - Smooth parfait, served with a red onion chutney & toasted bread. This was really tasty and smooth, plenty of bread, and the chutney was delicious. Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly Bites - Smothered in a sticky bourbon glaze with sesame seeds. Lovely pieces of pork in a BBQ sauce that smelt amazing when it came to the table, I love a sesame seed and they were sprinkled on top.
After quite a long comfort break which Louise suggested as she could see we needed it our mains arrived I had the Chicken Parmigiana - Panko coated chicken breast in marinara sauce, served with tenderstem broccoli, seasonal vegetables & sweet potato fries. Carl had the Valentines Carvery - A choice of perfectly cooked roasts from the carvery, all served with homemade yorkies, stuffing balls, sausages, roast potatoes, honey parsnips & more vegetables than you can shake a fork at. My chicken was lovely and crispy and the marinara sauce was delicious, finished off with the biggest pile of sweet potato fries which I'm ashamed to say beat me! Carl said the turkey was delicious and moist and the beef was gorgeous and pink, lovely and tender, crispy roasties along with lashings of gravy. The portion sizes are something else at this restaurant!
Our puddings arrived, we went for the Winter Romance Roulade, along with a lovely coffee each. We had the most lovely evening together celebrating our first Valentines Day together. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a treat to show each other how much you mean to one another and have a break from cooking this gorgeous place tucked away in Bletchley is the perfect spot.
