MK Loft Boarding to Take on YMCA MK in Charity Football Match at Cranfield United.
Milton Keynes-based business MK Loft Boarding is partnering with YMCA Milton Keynes in a special charity football match on Tuesday, May 14th, at Cranfield United. The game starts at 6pm, and the local community is invited to attend, show support, and get involved. The match was inspired by a recent initiative from MK Loft Boarding’s owner, Ryan Evans, who hosted YMCA residents in his hospitality box at an MK Dons home game. For many of the young people attending, it was their first-ever football match experience.
“This match is about giving back and bringing people together,” said Ryan. “The YMCA does amazing work for young people in Milton Keynes, and we’re proud to support them however we can.” The evening promises to be much more than just football.
There will be:
● A bar open from 5 pm
● Delicious food from a kebab van and Uncle Lim’s Chinese
● Keepy-up and crossbar challenges for all ages
● A fun, family-friendly atmosphere
● And a free post-match meal for players, thanks to Cranfield United’s generous support.
Local business Ainseys Entertainment also supports the event with a complete PA system. The team at Marshall's coaches will provide the transport in true cup final style! Funds raised on the night will go directly to YMCA Milton Keynes, which helps young people affected by homelessness by providing accommodation, career support and wellbeing services. The event is free to attend.
You can:
● Donate via JustGiving
● Register your interest via the Facebook Event.
● Or simply enjoy a great local evening for a great local cause.
Local businesses are encouraged to sponsor the match or contribute prizes or services.
Why It Matters to Support the YMCA
YMCA Milton Keynes is the only dedicated, local charity supporting young people who are, or who are at risk of homelessness, providing a safe place to call home and support from people they can trust. From a thriving physical and therapeutic activities programme (which includes football, we even have our own team!) to independent living skills, in-house mental health support, and more. Plus, we are expanding our work beyond housing with youth clubs and youth mentoring in our local community. All of this relies on fundraising and community support so that we can continue to help young people to go on to lead happy, healthy, and independent lives.
