Milton Keynes Nightclub supports White Ribbon Day

Pink Punters are proud to be part of this important movement and look forward to continuing their work to create safer spaces and raise awareness about women’s welfare and safety.

On Monday evening, Pink Punters were honoured to attend the White Ribbon event at MK Gallery, where Joe McMahon delivered a speech highlighting the critical role men must play in ending male violence against women. His message emphasised the collective responsibility to address this issue and foster a safer environment for all women.

Following the event, we invited attendees on board **Rainbow—the biggest, gayest bus in the world—**which was parked outside the venue. Over a free hot drink, we had the chance to chat with people about the various measures we have in place at Pink Punters to prioritise women’s safety. It was a valuable opportunity to share what we do, hear people’s thoughts, and discuss how we can continue to enhance our efforts.

We’re proud to be part of this important movement and look forward to continuing our work to create safer spaces and raise awareness about women’s welfare and safety.

Pink Punters has been a strong advocate for the White Ribbon Campaign for several years, and we greatly value its international significance. While the campaign runs annually for 16 days from 25th November—White Ribbon Day—we firmly believe that tackling male violence against women is not a one-off, yearly effort. For us, this is a commitment that we uphold every hour, every day, all year round on-line, on route and on site.

To reflect this ongoing dedication, our illuminated White Ribbon campaign signs remain on display throughout the year. However, this is just one part of our broader Women’s Welfare and Safety Policy (WWaSP), a comprehensive strategy that ensures women are as safe as they can possibly be both at our venue and in the surrounding community.

    Our “Holistic Safety Strategy” includes:

    •             Pre-arrival safety: Partnerships with taxi services featuring CCTV, vehicle tracking, and drivers trained in emergency procedures, ensuring a secure journey to Pink Punters.

    •             On-site safety: Maintaining double the recommended minimum number of security and cleaning staff, providing women-only, men-only, and non-gender toilets, and enforcing robust safety measures managed by a dedicated Women’s Safety Team, led by an experienced female manager.

    •             Post-visit safety: Helping guests leave safely, including support in arranging transport home where required.

In addition, we are always looking to expand our initiatives. From the New Year, we will be introducing welcome sessions, offering individuals the opportunity to familiarise themselves with our venue, meet the owners, and learn more about the safety measures in place.

We recognise that the perceived risk to women can often feel high, even though the actual risk at our venue is exceptionally low. Through our transparent safety systems and unwavering commitment to women’s welfare, we aim to provide reassurance and create an environment where everyone feels safe and welcome.

Our dedication is further reflected in our team of safety champions and male ambassadors, who work alongside our Women’s Welfare and Safety Person to uphold these policies. We genuinely believe that few, if any, venues in the UK can rival the level of safety and care we provide at Pink Punters
