Storm Ellen hits Milton Keynes resulting in fallen tree blocking a road

The emergency highways crew from Milton Keynes Council cleared a fallen down tree from a road in Kingston earlier this morning (21/8).

Newport Road was temporarily closed for safety whilst crews removed the tree.

Gusts in Milton Keynes are forecast to hit 46mph, with the peak happening at around 1pm.

Rain is also expected this afternoon and into the evening in the city.

Elsewhere across the UK, Met Office officials are warning of wind speeds of up to 75mph.
