Road heavily impacted by Christmas flooding finally reopens to vehicles

Roads, underpasses, and areas across Milton Keynes were left heavily flooded following severe downpour during the Christmas period.

Several flood warnings were issued for areas including the River Great Ouse in Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford, Ravenstone, Wolverton and Cosgrove.

One local business, the Calcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford, was also forced to close after suffering severe flooding in the car park and basement.

And one particular road in Newport Pagnell, Little Linford Lane, had to remain closed due to heavy waterlogging and lots of debris.

Over a week after the initial downpour, Milton Keynes Council has been busy dealing with the after-effects and has today (4/1) announced that Little Linford Lane is now open.

The lane, which is usually prone to flooding, has been cleared of the debris.
