Northamptonshire Police have released the first image from a collision on the M1 in Milton Keynes between J14 and J15 earlier today.
The force tweeted the picture from their Armed Response Vehicle account and said they had been called to the collision between a HGV and a car just before Junction 15 on the northbound carriageway earlier.
The force said that the car in the picture was on its side when they arrived, but thankfully neither occupant had been injured.
Emergency services rushed to the motorway earlier this afternoon with Police, Fire and Highways England officials attending.
There was queuing traffic for around five miles on the approach, with motorists told to add an additional 55 minutes to their journey times or seek an alternative route.
All lanes have now re-opened and the traffic has cleared.
