The M1 Northbound has re-opened following a 'serious road traffic collision' south of Milton Keynes this morning.
Highways England closed the road earlier between J11A for the A5 and J12 at Flitwick.
The road is now back open.
Police said the incident involved a HGV and a car, but said that all occupants are now out of the vehicles.
Police and the Fire Service were at the scene, including the Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit.
Traffic was queuing back to J11 for Dunstable on the motorway with motorists being told to allow extra time for their journey.
The collision was first reported at around 9am this morning, with the carriageway re-opening at around 9.45am.
Some traffic was 'trapped' on the motorway between J11A and the collision location but this has now been freed.
