A full weekend closure will be in place on the northbound M1 between junctions 15 and 15a, near Milton Keynes over the weekend.
National Highways say this closure will be in place between 9pm on Friday 10th June until 5am on Monday 13 June to allow a new, low noise road surface to be installed.
The new surface will mean smoother journeys for drivers and less noise for people living near the motorway.
The carriageway on the junction 15 northbound entry slip road, will also be reconstructed.
National Highways are strongly advising drivers to follow the diversion route which will be in place, and not travel through villages.
A signposted diversion route will be in place via the A45 northbound, A5076 ring road, A5123 southbound and back onto the M1 at junction 15a.
