The M1 Northbound is closed near Northampton due to an incident.

The M1 Northbound from Junction 16 is currently closed due to an incident.

Police say that the road will be closed for the foreseeable.

Emergency services are currently on the scene.

There are currently severe delays of 77 minutes and increasing, backing down towards Milton Keynes.

Northamptonshire police said: "The M1 is currently closed Northbound from Junction 16 and will be for the foreseeable whilst emergency services deal with an incident. Please use alternative routes."
