A5 re-opens after being shut by Police in Milton Keynes this morning due to ice

The A5 in Milton Keynes has re-opened this lunchtime after Police were forced to shut it this morning due to ice.

A closure was in place southbound between the A4146 at McDonalds in Bletchley down to the junction with the A4012 Leighton Road.

The road was closed by Thames Valley Police who have since re-opened it.

Highways England say that contractors were at the scene treating the road.

The main grid road routes in Milton Keynes are clear of snow today but seeing areas of ice and frost.

Forecasters say that icy patches will likely cause some travel disruption throughout the day.
