To celebrate the wonderful occasion of the official opening of the orchard, singer and vocal coach Sophie Garner will be leading a community sign along of Amazing Grace. Plus music by “Piper” Rod Elder and Dan Evans English Dulcimers.
Already more than 100 fruit trees have been planted in the orchard – mainly apples and pears, but there are also medlar and cobnuts and cherry trees.
Visitor can also enjoy some newly installed artwork of three large steel hares, which represent Tiney, Bess and Puss, Cowper’s much loved and cared for pet hares which lived indoors with the household.
All the heritage trees have been sponsored by local residents and artwork funded by The MK Foundation, Co-Op community Fund and local business grants.
