Alongside the frenetic war-time activities of the Bletchley Park Codebreakers flourished another series of activities – that of the Bletchley Park Musical Society. Celebrity performers of the time were occasionally invited to lift the spirits of those working tirelessly for the war effort.

In 1944, operatic soprano Isobel Bailie performed a short programme of well-known classical songs at Bletchley, followed later that same year by the most important French baritone of the 20th Century, Pierre Bernac, accompanied by the world-famous composer Francis Poulenc.

Join baritone Crispin Lewis, soprano Zoe Jasko, and pianist Helen Shabatei as they take you on a journey into the past and recreate these two iconic concerts for Codebreakers.

The event includes refreshments of tea (or coffee) and scones with cream. 1940s attire welcome!
